The Guenther House is a museum and restaurant that is quite famous for having great breakfast. It reminded me of the old charming Southern houses that I had seen in Louisiana.
We decided to order their Breakfast Platter, which comes with their famous biscuits and country gravy. The biscuits turned out to be more of a bun than a biscuit and the gravy was definitely the highlight of the meal and you really didn’t even need the jam or butter that came with it. The biscuits dipped in gravy was definitely the highlight of the meal.
We also ordered a peach strudel to finish off our meal and it was equally as delicious.
After we finished our meal, we walked around the museum and the grounds for a bit before leaving. The museum was very small, and the focus was really just the restaurant and the gift shop. The grounds were beautiful, but I was surprised that the lots were quite small. In my mind, I was imagining that these houses would be similar to the ones I’d seen on the Louisiana sugar plantations, where each house would be on several acres. Instead, these were just houses on a regular street, with your neighbour’s house being only a few feet away.
