We arrived at the Reunification Palace just in time to join a complimentary English tour which began at 10:30am. The tour turned out to be fantastic and I’m glad we waited around for it as I was able to learn quite a bit of information about this place.
This was the workplace and home of the President of South Vietnam during the Civil War. It is also known as the site of the end of the Vietnam War, when a North Vietnamese army tank crashed through the gates of the building. Nowadays, only 3 rooms in this massive palace are still used. The rest have been turned into a tourist attraction
As with most Vietnamese tourist attractions, the Reunification Palace also closes between 11:00am and 1:00pm daily so make sure to plan your visit around this break.
