Day 4 was a short day for me as I would leave the tour group before the morning was over.
Our first stop was Cataract Gorge, which is a river gorge just a few minutes from Lauceston. A 15-20 minute walk will allow you to appreciate the scenery in the area.
It was very interesting to see such a beautiful, natural surrounding just minutes away from the city centre. The walk that we took made me feel like I was far removed from the city, which wasn’t the case at all.
We made it back to Launceston and proceeded to take an easy walk around the downtown core. Many of the buildings are from the colonial period, often with the date of when the building was erected shown right near the entrance. This added to the culture and beauty of the area.
This concluded the 4 day tour for me and I left the group to go and explore a bit more of Launceston on my own, as I had about 2.5 hours of free time before I was to head to the airport. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 day tour of Tasmania, and really liked the fact that FunTassie Tours took the time and effort to bring us to local specialty farms and places that are unique to the area. I was quite jealous to find out that the group was heading to a salmon farm for lunch on Day 4, which I would have loved to go to. Perhaps, I’ll have more time to take the full tour next time.
