I had such a wonderful time when I visied the Chinese Garden in Sydney, that I knew I wanted to make this a priority when I went to Vancouver. I have actually been to the Chinese Garden in Vancouver before (might even have visited several times) but not since I was a teenager, so my memory of the gardens is quite faint.
As soon as we entered, we saw a tour that had just started and decided to follow along to learn more about the gardens. Like so many Chinese gardens, there is so much symbolism in every aspect of the build. People really thought of everything back in the day.
Upon first entering, you are met with a fantastic view of the pagoda. As you start to follow the pathway, you are led to so many different viewpoints. We were taught that each one of these windows inside the garden have a different design. It is pretty incredible considering the number of windows there are.
I remembered that at the Sydney Chinese Garden, there was a gated seating area that overlooked the water. In Vancouver, they had a similar area but the view was of the inner garden.
Beside the garden, there is also a public garden and some of the views there were just as fantastic.
We didn’t have the greatest weather that day, but I was still able to appreciate the beauty of the garden. I can imagine just how pretty it would be in the middle of summer when all the flowers are in bloom.
