After spending an afternoon walking from Coogee to Bondi, I decided that I still had enough energy to walk to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, for sunset views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
I started near Hyde Park, which meant it would be just shy of 30 minutes to get to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair. Along the way, I passed through the Domain, the Botanic Gardens and even the Andrew Charlton Pool before reaching my destination.

As soon as I arrived at the chair, I saw several photographers lined up with tripods, ready to snap the perfect sunset shot. A slow walk along the promenade allowed me to enjoy the sunset and view both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge at different stages of lighting, making it a wondering slow stroll with breathtaking views.

The promenade probably shouldn’t take more than 5 or 10 minutes normally, but I must have been there for at least 45 minutes, just taking in the scenery, the serenity and the beauty of the whole thing. A lot of people had the same idea as there were many people just sprawled out on the green space watching the sun go down and a lot of others jogging through the area for their after dinner exercise. What a perfect way to end the day.
