We took a bus to the Suzhou train station to catch a bullet train to Shanghai. The bus ride was only supposed to be 4 stops, but it took a good half hour. We were nervous that this would be another rerun of our earlier trip from Hangzhou to Suzhou, but thankfully, everything worked out well and we were able to buy our tickets to Shanghai with no hiccups. However, I was surprised that we had to buy tickets to depart at 11:14am when it was only 10:15am. I guess I was comparing it to Guangzhou and Shenzhen where I can go in and buy a ticket for a train that departs within 15 minutes.
Regardless, it was fine and the bullet train was a lot quicker than I expected. It only took about 25 minutes to get there to Shanghai from Suzhou. Shanghai has multiple train stations though, so be sure to purchase tickets to the correct one.
As expected, the bullet train was fast and clean and they have staff on board who would bring around coffee and snacks for purchase once in a while. The whole experience was quite good.
