Café Flaneur 暖暖蛇咖啡館
Address in English: Puji St, Tainan City, Taiwan 700
Getting There: From Tainan Main Station, it is about a 20 minute walk
Tainan has a strong café culture and I did a bit of research and found out that there was a travel themed café within walking distance from our hotel. The café was filled with all sorts of books and neat little travel knick knacks. Each table had a route marker with a name of a city on it, which the wait staff would use to identify your table by. The bill also came in the form of a boarding pass – everything was so detailed!
The café had all sorts of neat little décor items and you could tell the owner had spent a lot of effort in making sure that his café was comfortable and interesting. We later discovered that the owner had been away in Vietnam the week before and luck would have it that we were visiting on the day he had opened back up.
The pro-Taiwanese and pro-democracy signs were not lost on me. I love the messages. The only slightly negative thing about this café is that it is hidden in a little alley off the main road. If you’re heading there, you’ll have to make sure to have a good map.
