I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Corsi during my visit to Florence. It is located approximately a 5 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station and there are many restaurants, convenience stores and even a laundromat in the vicinity.
The owner, Roberta, is an older lady who took the time to introduce all of Florence’s main sights to me. She only has 3 guest rooms and 2 bathrooms. However, one of the guest rooms links directly to one of the bathrooms, so you can actually pay €5 extra per night if you’d like exclusive use of that bedroom with the linking bathroom.
I stayed in a room with a shared bath which was kept very clean. The property was older but the owner takes great care of keeping the property clean. There are many kitchen amenities and even a washing machine on premise.
The only complaint I have is that the bed was a bit outdated and I could start to feel the springs. The Wi-Fi was strong in the common area but as I had a room that was further away, the signal was weak. Aside from that, everything was wonderful.
Casa Corsi was a bit tricky to find at first. There are two main exits from the train station. The one on the left (east) is the main exit, and if you take the one that’s further right (west), you will exit onto a small path for cars and buses that are dropping passengers off at the train station. Take the one that leads you to the cars and buses and keep heading right until you see a small road where Hotel Club Hotel is located. Casa Corsi is on the next street just past this hotel.
I made my booking on Cross Pollinate, but Casa Corsi does have a website as well.
