Prior to traveling to Italy, I had read that there were quite a few Chinese restaurants in Florence. Seeing as how there are now quite a few Chinese people living in Italy, I was curious to know what kind of quality the Chinese food would be of.
I found one Chinese restaurant that was relatively close to my hotel and decided to give it a try. The Chinese who live in Italy are mainly from Zhejiang province, unlike in North America where Chinatowns were all started by the Cantonese. With this in mind, I expected a more Northern menu from the restaurant, but was surprised to see that some Cantonese items on there as well. I decided to order a fried rice, sweet and sour pork as well as a vegetable.
The food wasn’t quite to the standard of Chinese restaurants here in Canada, but it was acceptable as a late night supper. The portions were small, but expected as each dish was only between €5-€7.The restaurant also offered complimentary Wi-Fi service.
