My cousin who lives in Hong Kong suggested that we try this place in Shatin. The décor was of a typical Chinese restaurant, but one thing that I liked was that they provided everyone with two sets of chopsticks – an ivory coloured one and a darker coloured one. Most restaurants I know of would just put a couple of extra sets of chopsticks on the lazy susan and everyone would treat those as the pairs of “public” chopsticks for use when picking up food they want. This is to keep things more hygienic, so that you’re not picking up food with chopsticks that have been eaten with. This was the first time that I had seen a second set of personal chopsticks being supplied to everyone.
Along with the table settings, the table was lined with a couple of typical starters – peanuts and dried radish.
We ordered quite a few dishes, including braised pork belly, soup dumplings and xiaolongbao, which all turned out to be wonderful.
I would definitely return to eat here again if I had the opportunity.
