Prior to the trip, I was really looking forward to having laksa in Australia as there are so many more Malaysia restaurants in Australia than there are in Canada. I had read many great reviews about Jimmy’s Recipe, located in a mall close to my hotel, so I headed there for lunch during my first full day in Sydney.
For $12.50AUD, the chicken laksa did not disappoint, as the broth was the perfect combination of creamy and spicy, which was extremely satisfying. The only strange thing about Jimmy’s Recipe is that they refused to give me a glass of water when I asked for it. They said that they don’t provide water, but I don’t understand this at all since I was just hoping for a glass of tap water. The laksa wasn’t overly spicy but it did still have a bit of a kick, so I’m sure a lot of people would appreciate some water with it.
