This was a great hotel choice for us. It was located about a 10 minute walk from the main train station and about a 5 minute walk from the bus stop where we would catch our bus to Sun Moon Lake. The hotel is immediately across from Taichung Park, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. If you decide to stay at this property, I highly recommend having the name of the park written down in Chinese. If you find the park, you’ll find the hotel.
The staff were friendly and we checked in with no problems and was able to settle in our room quite quickly.
The only strange part was the open concept. This is a business hotel, and we had booked a room with 2 single beds (no window). The room was a square shape, with the 2 single beds in 2 of the corners, the shower in a 3rd corner and the toilet in the last corner. The sink area was in between the shower and the toilet, but was out in the open. The doors to the shower and the toilet were not full doors that stretched from floor to ceiling, so you can pretty much hear everything if you’re sharing a room.
Aside from the strange room concept, we were very happy with our stay. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. They also give you 2 free bottles of water each day, plus a selection of tea and coffee. There is a 7 Eleven on the corner of the street right next to the hotel as well. The hotel also offered complimentary Wi-Fi.
Overall, I’d recommend this hotel, as long as you don’t mind the open floor concept.
