We left the hotel at 9:00am to take a cab to the Vietnam Airlines office, to transfer to an airport shuttle bus. I believe this is the only time this week that we got ripped off. The woman at the hotel tried to tell us that the cab ride should cost about 50,000₫, but I’m pretty sure she meant to say 15,000₫ because it’s only about a 10 minute walk, which we obviously didn’t find out about until later on. Anyways, our cab ride ended up being 32,000₫ so needless to say, we were taken for a ride!
Once we arrived at the office, we ended up waiting about 40 minutes before the bus left because the driver was waiting to fill up all the seats before taking off. This caused us to arrive at the airport at 10:40am for an 11:45am flight, and I was nervous that we’d miss our flight, but in reality, the Hanoi airport was dead and we probably could have arrived at 11:15am and still gotten on our flight.
We even had plenty of time to shop at the souvenir stores and change money. I love the cigarette packing here.
