The Days Inn in Sylvan Lake was recently renovated and it clearly shows.
The employees at the front desk were very friendly and check in was quite seamless. I had a room on the 3rd floor, which is their highest floor. There are no elevators so it is a manual climb up to the top. Upon arriving at my room, I was pleasantly surprised at the size as well as how clean the room is. The beds are really high and you literally have to climb into bed. However, it was also one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in in a long time.
One strange thing I did find was that there was only one complimentary bottle of water in the room. The room I booked into had 2 queen beds and there were 2 of us staying in the room, so I’m not sure why there was only one bottle of water.
The service at the hotel was excellent but beware that the front desk closes at 10pm. If you require assistance from the front desk after this time, you’ll need to phone the hotel and one of the employees will come back out to the lobby to assist. This happened to us as our room key did not work when we arrived back to the hotel and we had to call for someone to come out to assist.
The hotel is also conveniently located and within walking distance to the lake. To get to the farthest end of the lake, would only take about 30 minutes to walk.
Overall, a really great stay in a quiet, newly renovated hotel.
