I had never heard of the voco chain before, but I saw the hotel on the IHG website for a good price, and more importantly, it looked like it had a great location in the Gold Coast, so I decided to try it out. Boy, am I glad I did.
The cost of the Skybus from the aiport is $15AUD and upon check in, the front desk gave me two little shortbread cookies, which was a really nice gesture. The lobby was grand and I found myself in a very quiet room at the end of the hallway on the 19th floor, which is the second highest in the building.
The room was bright, spacious and had very contemporary modern décor. I loved everything about it.
Because I was located on such a high floor, I also had beautiful views from my window.
There is a G:Link tram stop located right next to the hotel and the SkyPoint Observation Deck is located just across the street. The hotel has a couple of restaurants and offers a breakfast buffet at a very reasonable price. I didn’t dine there, but I did see a huge lineup of people waiting to get into the restaurant in the morning.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I am ever in the Gold Coast again.
