After walking around on a rainy day, what better way to cure our moods than having some handmade ice cream? Having read about Salt & Straw and all of the unique ice cream flavours they had, we knew it was something we wanted to try. We arrived in the mid-afternoon, and seeing as it was a rainy day, the shop wasn’t too busy. They don’t have much seating, so it worked out quite well for us.
Their menu consisted of their classic flavours as well as specialty flavours that are only available for a limited time. Since there is an abundance of flavours, most of us decided to get the Tasting Flight which consisted of four kids scoops, which we understood to be golf sized scoops. Before placing our orders, they actually let us try as many of the flavours as we wanted to first, which was really nice.
In the end, we discovered that they define golf ball sized scoops a bit differently than us. 4 golf ball sized scoops turned out to be 4 regular scoops of ice cream!
All of the flavours we tried were delicious. Who would have known that having flower flavoured ice cream would be so refreshing?
