Seattle offers so many different options for views of the city. From the iconic Space Needle, the historic Smith Tower, Columbia Tower, otherwise known as the tallest building in Seattle, to the Great Wheel, that’s already 4 great viewpoints. I haven’t even included the natural viewpoints like Kerry Park.
Since I visited the Space Needle on my previous trip to Seattle, I knew that that one wouldn’t be on my list this time. We were walking along the waterfront and stumbled upon the Ferris Wheel and decided that it would be a good idea to go for a ride.
Including taxes, the ticket came to $16.11USD, and the employees told us that the ride would be between 8-12 minutes long and we could expect three rotations. In the end, we actually had closer to four rotations as the first one must not have counted since they were letting people on.
The ride was really smooth and we did not feel a thing the entire time. Without knowing it, we had reached the top and were spoiled with some fantastic views of both the city and the water.
It was a fantastic way to relax for 10 minutes or so. However, I’m not sure that it would be worthwhile to visit during peak times as a 10 minute ride might not be worth the long wait times.
