The Crowds of Myeongdong

I have visited Myeongdong more than any other place in Seoul as it was always one of my favourite places in the city.  The streets are always crowded with people and there is tons of shopping, food, and entertainment to keep you from feeling bored for hours and hours on end.

Myeongdong is known to be much livelier at night, so don’t expect to find much to do there during the morning hours.  In fact, most stalls probably don’t start setting up until the afternoon. Once the stalls are set up and the people start roaming in, the atmosphere of Myeongdong becomes second to none.

Something else Myeongdong is known for, is its array of street foods.  From rice cakes, to meat on skewers, to fishcakes and anything else you can think of, you can probably find it somewhere in Myeongdong.

Myeongdong is also home to a small Chinese community, so there are quite a few Chinese businesses in the area.  I had heard that there was even a Chinese school.

I would highly recommend a visit or two to Myeongdong as there are just so many things to see and do there.
