The Columbia Tower in downtown Seattle is supposed to offer views that are just as good as the Space Needle, and at half the cost. However, seeing as how the Space Needle is Seattle’s most iconic structure, we just had to fulfill the typical tourist responsibility of taking cheesy photos from the top of the Space Needle.
Although we had originally wanted to climb the Space Needle at sunset, we had had a full day already and were quite tired, so we headed there right after supper. The line for tickets was short and we were in the elevator within minutes.
They had a camera set up against the tower and with your admission ticket, you had one photo opportunity. You just needed to insert your ticket into the scanner and a photo will be snapped of you standing in front of the water and mountains. You can then go inside to view the photo to see if you would like to purchase it.
The Space Needle just happened to be situated right next to the EMP Museum, which is the coolest looking museum structure I’ve ever seen. The view from the top also looked pretty cool.
