The Mall Of Asia

When we visited the Mall of Asia, it was the largest mall in the Philippines and a striking symbol of the difference between the poor and the wealthy in the country.  The mall looks exactly like any mall you could find in a developed country.  With an IMAX theatre, a bowling alley, an Olympic sized skating rink, and all sorts of shops and restaurants, the Mall of Asia is an elaborate maze of entertainment that was to keep us occupied on a 13 hour stopover in Manila.

Being that this was our last day in the Philippines and we had 13 hours to kill, we didn’t actually want to shop and carry around any purchases, so instead we filled our time at the bowling alley and a karaoke room.  After that, we spent some time on the promenade just outside the mall before a quick trip to a local KFC to try out some of the menu items that we do not have at home.

We realized that even though the Mall of Asia had a lot to offer, 13 hours in Manila was just too much and by about the 5th or 6th hour, we were pretty much done with the mall.
