Having previously visited the former tallest Starbucks in the World, I knew that I would want to include this Starbucks in my visit. The current tallest Starbucks in the world is inside the Columbia Tower, which is both a tourist attraction, as the tallest building in Seattle, as well as a professional building full of offices for different businesses.
The Columbia Tower was a little bit of an uphill climb because of its location on a small hill. Because of the hill, and dependent on which entrance you use, you may be entering the building on different floors. We entered at the lowest level and took an escalator up to the 4th floor, which is where the main lobby and entrance were. From there, the tough part was trying to figure out which set of elevators would take you to the 40th floor. We finally found the elevators labeled with 37-76 and as soon as we arrived onto the 40th floor, Starbucks was in sight.
I knew that it was just an ordinary Starbucks, so I didn’t expect much of the interior. However, I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t offer better views. Columbia Tower is located in the midst of other high rises, so the views were all obstructed, unlike in Taipei where the 35th floor Starbucks offered great views of the city.
It was a nice visit and now I can say that I’ve been to two of the tallest Starbucks in the world, but if you are just looking for a cup of coffee, there is also another Starbucks on the 1st floor of the same building.
